No. 3 - The Ash

A "bantalow" (mini-bungalow) best describes our smallest bungalows and The Ash was the first plan to receive this description. It was a candidate for construction by THE small HOUSE CATALOG, contending with the larger 1.5 story Beekeeper's Bungalow. It's a single floor, single bedroom, single bath house with heaps of attic space for storage. There are two entrances, including a kitchen garden door. Simple details such as exposed rafter tails, knee braces, lap siding, bold casings and trim, bring this simple design to life. At 480 sq ft it makes a great retirement plan for one or two people or a handsome guest house. Plan calls out for 8' ceilings but 9' ceilings could easily be done as well. 2x6 super insulation details. Crawl space foundation.
